Charleston Ballet Theatre "Unplugged"
Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 3:57AM I keep saying that the Charleston Ballet Theatre is world class and I really mean it. How Jill Eahorne Bahr creates her choreography is a mystery to me. I am constantly amazed at the innovative and sophisticated performances. Ballet "Unplugged" was no exception. This one night performance at the Sotille Theatre downtown was a WOW!. Since all of the ballets have been performed to electronic music, Ms Bahr decided to move to live music. We were treated to a wonderful evening by the Charleston Symphony orchestra's concertmaster and violinist along with four others in the chamber group. The four pieces were dramatic and playful. Schubert, Brahms, and Vaughn Williams leant their hands to a highly entertaining and impeccably performed ballet. One more gold star to this stellar troupe of dancers and their choreographer.
