Charleston | Boating & Fishing

What comes to my mind when I think of Charleston? Sand, sea, blue crabs, pluff mud, boats and fun in the sun. Think of yourself catching mahi mahi and yellowfin tuna fifty miles offshore from the Charleston harbor or laying back in your skiff in the creek waiting for a blue crab to tug on your line baited with a chicken neck.

Revelling on the water is a year round joy. Start in fall baiting for humongous shrimp in Bulls Bay sound, trolling for sea trout in the creeks, and heading offshore for the mahi and tuna. Continue through the winter chasing the trout and redfish, and sailing every day in the harbor. Head offshore again in the spring or fly fish inshore for the redfish as they tail in the flats. Get your crab lines out again in early summer and head for Capers Island in the boat to frolic in the water and picnic on the pristine beaches. Or just serenely walk the beautiful beaches in the early morning. Charleston shouldn't be wasted on landlubbers. I'll show you how to revel in our briny deep and shallows.
