FIG Restaurant's Better than Ever

I popped into FIG last week for a nibble and a glass of wine at the bar. The subtlety and finish in Mike Latta's appetizer offerings is spot on. His love affair with locally grown veggies and seafood from our briny deep comes through with each scrumptious morsel. I adored my baby beets roasted with sherry vinegar and sea salt. And how divine was the buratta (fresh mozarella and cream) paired with roasted fresh peaches and fried bits of rosemary, all nestled up to a bed of perfectly dressd baby arugula?

Very!

Mike has won beaucoup awards like the 2009 James Beard Best Chef of the Southeast, but for me it's his soul that shines through.

Fig is downtown on Meeting St. Be sure not to miss it.
